"Somebody Loves Me" is a popular song, with music written by George Gershwin, and lyrics by Ballard MacDonald and Buddy DeSylva. This is not to be confused with the Southern gospel song written by W.F. & Marjorie Crumley. The song was published in and featured in George White's Scandals of Composer(s): George Gershwin.

Lester Young's significance in jazz is not hard to gauge. His playing influenced almost every saxophonist that came after him. On this release, we hear Young teamed up with two other jazz legends, drummer Buddy Rich and Nat "King" Cole on piano.6/

Another 4 tracks were released in on Norman Granz' Clef Records label as The Lester Young Trio No. 2. All 8 trio tracks were combined on a 12 inch Norgran LP, The Lester Young Buddy Rich Trio released in Nat King Cole was under contract with a different record label at the time so was credited only as "Aye Guy" on the original Genre: Jazz.

Jul 06,  · This first Volume & Vol. 2 were reissued together as The Lester Young Trio. Lester sounds very good, but I can't say I'm a fan of the Cole-Rich rhythm section. I don't like the way Buddy swings most of the time, and most of all I'd rather have a real bass than Nat doing the walking; "Somebody Loves Me" especially suffers from that/5(1).
